We appreciate you were keen for the fault to be resolved as quickly as possible and we're very sorry for any inconvenience caused. As i obviously have a homeplan with them ,i rang through requesting an urgent response as my wife has stage 4 Cancer and temperatures had plummeted. By sunday evening we had not received any reply at all , and so we had to pay for any emergency call out to rectify the problem. Phoned corgi to query this and was told that service was check the condensate trap and gas safety check, needless to say have cancelled cover and gone to the local firm who installed boiler. No cared shown to family with no central heating for over two weeks during cold winter spell. Confirmation from more than one plumber that the identified problem from corgi was incorrect.

Do I really need boiler and central heating cover?

Phoned corgi and they said they will try and get a plumber over to me asap, as now boiler switched off and mains water turned off. This was due to having to order replacement parts from our supplier. On tuesday the engineer comes to replace the valve but boiler still not working after new part installed. I found the gas engineers prompt, courteous, new what they were doing.

We understand the frustration this can cause and apologise for the inconvenience this caused you. I took a Corgi Plan due to it being cheaper but offering better service than British Gas. At the face of it from my experience of both companies, British Gas is more responsive and quicker to get parts over to fix the issue.

The Trustpilot Experience

Had cover with corgi for annual service, when engineer came round was here for 15 mins and I said that was not a service. Never made a claim until today, when I phoned to report a problem with the dual flush on my loo , and a basin tap sticking badly. Help future customers by talking about customer service, price, delivery, returns & refunds. If you’ve chosen one of our standard plans without a £60 fixed excess charge, then you won’t pay any excess charges except in specific circumstances.

Since then, I just receive marketing junk trying to get me to sign back up. Glad some people have gotten good service from CORGI, for us it has been a little bit like pulling teeth. Most recent case involved their subcontractor who came around to resolve loss of hot water and in 20 minutes said we needed a new part. CORGI decided that they weren't the right people for the job so called in the boiler manufacturers who came after a day of waiting, looked at the boiler and said the couldn't work there. CORGI backed them up and said after taking our money for years that we had no right to a repair. Fortunately I managed to get the original sub to come back and the new technician realized that a valve was in the wrong position and all was resolved, after two weeks of cold water in the middle of winter.

Fault diagnosed on first visit (24 hours approx. after call, which was admittedly on a Sunday late afternoon). Took 48 hours to get new part and arrange to come and fit. We are sorry for your experience on this occasion. As you had suspended payment to your policy during your property re-build our agent was unable to deploy an engineer to service the boiler.

Terrible service

Person I spoke to on online chat was lovely and understanding and helpful and understood my situation. We would like to apologise for your experience and assure you that we have invested in improved technology and increased resources to address this issue.

We know there’s a lot of admin to think about when youmove house. The good news is, it’s no hassle to take your boiler cover with you. Simply get in touch with us tolet us know that you’ve moved, and we can help you set up a new contract. Unfortunately the manufacturers were not willing to work on the boiler due to insufficient and safe access to the boiler. The access issue was resolved by you and the original engineer then returned and completed the repair.

My elderly mother experienced a burst pipe on 15th dec. called corgi who came out but couldn’t fix it, promised to be back in the morning. Still leaking today the 19 th dec. spoke to someone on the phone and was told they’d call back but haven’t. Meanwhile she has water pouring everywhere.she pays a monthly fee to cover events like this to avoid the stress , but this company has created more stress for her. I took out this Maintenance contract in December 2013.
